About the event
On behalf of the Vietnamese American Bar Association of Southern California (“VABASC”), I personally invite you to our Installation Gala on November 2, 2023, at the Avenue of the Arts Hotel in Costa Mesa, California. VABASC is a premier Vietnamese American legal organization that includes members of the state and federal judiciary, non-profit organizations, government agencies, law firms, in house counsel, law students and faculty, and local community leaders.
Our annual Installation Gala serves as the single largest fundraiser of the year. Proceeds from our Gala provide our operating budget for events, social and professional programs, and charities. As a respected member of our community, your support and attendance are very valuable to us.
This year, we will celebrate Strength in Unity, install our incoming 2023 Board Members, recognize our previous Board Members and newly formed Advisory Board, and award a VABASC Attorney and Judge of the Year, Company or Organization of the Year, Trailblazer, and Pro Bono lawyer of the year. We will also award a scholarship to a deserving law student.
We are thrilled to have Vietnamese refugee, American Veteran, and entrepreneur France Q. Hoang as our keynote speaker. He graduated in the top 1% at West Point and magna cum laude from Georgetown Law. He clerked for Judge Thomas Griffith on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit and was appointed by President George W. Bush as an Associate White House Counsel and Special Assistant to the President. Shortly after leaving the White House, Mr. Hoang served as the Executive Officer of a U.S. Army Special Forces Company in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. He was on the founding team of companies generating hundreds of millions of dollars, employing over a thousand professionals in law, aerospace, defense, government services, and technology.
